fish filter leaking?
I have a Rena Filstar X2 and I changed my filter because it was dirty. I cleaned and replaced the filter and I put everything back correctly. I put the filter and the hose back and the hose started to put water into the filter canister. Now the problem is when the hose fill the filter canister to the max, it starts leaking slowly like one cup a day because it is overflowing from the canister. The hose is not stretching and it is less than 55'' from the water. So does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
if its leaking on the inlet side of the filter its either the filter elliment is in wrong or its not letting water pass through it fast enough creating back pressure. if its on the return side going back to the tank then you might need a new filter.
