What do I do for my fish suffering from electrocution? Experts only?
HELP! I have never dealt with this before. Experts only!
I had a Jebo powerhead in my aquarium and it exploded, literally. I didn't even know you could have flames underwater, but apparently you can. The on unlucky tang next to the powerhead is burned and probably won't make it, and all the other fish are in the rock dying. I of course am doing an emergency water change but was wondering if anyone new of any treatment or anything else I can try to save the electrocuted fish. Saltwater tank. I faintly remember methylene blue as a treatment....
Note, Stay Away from JEBO brand products. I've heard of their heaters going and now can add pumps to that list
I would think you need to do a massive water change.
Reason being is that it's probably not electrocution but toxic chemicals in the water from the burnt plastic and insulation.
Getting them into clean water is probably the most important thing. I wold only treat them with chemicals if they develop infections due to the stress they are under. More chemicals will just stress them at this time.
