How long should a fish tank cycle?
I want to add hardy fish to cycle my tank.
What kind of hardy fish should I add, and how long does it usually take for a tank to cycle completely this way?
I have a 20 gallon tank. I have a bubble wall for oxygen, a heater and a good filtration system. I also have plant bulbs in it. I'm looking for NAMES OF HARDY FISH TO ADD TO MY TANK FOR CYCLING. Thanks!

Well, please let me tell you my story when I first got my tank. We went to Petsmart and they said I had to cycle the tank 3 weeks... Then we went to Petco and they said 6 weeks... Then we went to a fish store (they know tons of stuff) and they said only 24 hours.
I would say maybe cycle it for about a week but even 24 hours will do... Just make sure to go to a fish store (not just any pet store) and have your water tested for ammonia and nitrogen and all that stuff. For your tank to get really stirdy and when all the ammonia steps, nitrogen steps and nitrace steps are gone, it will be about a month and then you are basically free of getting your water checked and all that stuff. Having the Right Salt Water Fish Tank
