Soft sided filter and pump system just does not do the job. Can I use a 1/2 hp pump ?
Circulation of the water is useless. I have a 1 1/4" inlet and outlet hose. Can I attach a 1 1/2" hose without damaging the pump or pool? Pool size is 12' round soft sided. OR is there a strong enough filter/pump system out there that will do a better job. Have a intec pump system now. (not aware of the size but cost $50.00) Frustrated consumer............ Thank you for any assistance with this problem.
I see no answers, so I want to try and help because I also have an ineffective filter pump system on my soft sides, above ground pool....your pool sounds like mine. *(What's it? Easyset or something). Also have 1 1/4 hose on system. Here's what I'm thinking of doing:
- Go to Lowe's/Home Depot and see what's available in pool supply section...I know I saw some pool pumps at one of 'em.
- Explain my problem to a knowledgable sales clerk and get advice. (Some of them have got real solid experience/training)
- My own logic/experience says I would probably:
-- put an adaptor between the 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" (new pump) hoses ... *not* couple the 1 1/2" directly to the pool. That way, if too much pressure, I'll likely blow out the hose and not the pool adaptor! (Repair much more possible)
-- read recommendations and specs on new pump...compare to old.
-- ensure pump electrical connections are secure from water.
-- ensure pump is primed with water before activating.
-- watch operation for the first hour before letting run unwatched.
